Hello Everyone

It has been some time since we last updated you on the activities with  Soccer Hope 4 Children.  We are very excited to see the children showing such enthusiasm and learning so quickly.

First of all, we would like to give you a little background of Bujagali village where we operate.Bujagali is approximately 8KM north of Jinja town on the banks of the river Nile, Uganda, East Africa.
This village is famous for it’s spectacular water falls called Bujagli Falls.  It has been a key tourist spot in East Africa where visitors from all over the world come to do white water rafting.  They also have boat riding, cultural dances and many other activities.  Over 80% of the people in this village depend on the falls for income to survive.

Then disaster came to the people here.  The introduction of Bujagali Hydro Power Project changed their lives.  The beautiful falls depleted their strength and the tourists stopped coming, which meant the money stopped.  Craft shops closed, small eating-places and bars closed and cultural dancing groups were affected.  The result of all these things happening were many children stopped going to school and the people lost hope.

When Soccer Hope 4 Children started training the kids in this area, parents felt relieved as they were seeing a smile again and watched how happy they were that we cared to help them.  It is the reason we are giving so much attention to this project and instilling soccer skills to these youngsters.  It is giving them “hope”.
We continue to receive many kids to our training ground who wish to enroll with us, but at the moment, we just cannot take everyone.

The boys and girls become better every day.  Last week was spent visiting the parents of the Soccer Hope 4 Children kids.  They were so happy with the work we are doing to change the lives of their children.  Village leaders participate by encouraging parents and by attending the training once in awhile.  This month has been very rainy but to our surprise, these kids never give up and they come rain or shine.

We thank you all for walking with us and ask that if you have any ideas for us to implement, we would be grateful to you.

We shall update soon to let you know any new events that are happening.

God bless you all.

Welcome to our Dream

Have you ever had a dream so powerful that nothing will stop you from fulfilling it?
We have …… and that dream is teaching children in poverty the art of playing soccer.

My name is Godfrey Lufafa and I am grateful to be friends and partner with Daniel Kiwanuka, a professional
soccer player as well as a coach.  He was requested to coach the women's team of Uganda by
receiving an appointment letter from the Federation of Uganda  Football Association.   We feel blessed to have Daniel's
experience in teaching the little ones of our country to play this sport.  Not only can we teach them  soccer, but also to
instill in them the confidence which is so desperately needed in their lives and to give them "Hope" for the future.

This is only the beginning and we realize we have a long journey ahead of us.  We know that with God, anything is possible and lives of children can be changed forever if we don't give up.  We hope that you will follow this dream with us as your encouragement would mean so much.

If your love for this sport is as powerful to you as it is with us, then to hear your ideas and suggestions would be welcome.  Thanks for taking the time to read our blog and we hope to have you follow along with us in the future.
we shall always ........................................share the test of  our dream  as the action runs  please keep on  watching
